Fails WP:NGRIDIRON. The individual does not appear to have played a game in a qualifying league, nor served in a notable coaching position. Keep Failing NGRIDIRON is irrelevant if he meets GNG—which—it appears he does per the following: UW-Whitewater's Behrendt steals show from NCAA.com; Matt Behrendt, Jake Kumerow forged into Whitewater force from The Roanoke Times; Behrendt, Warhawks air out Stout from the Daily Jefferson County Union; and Matt Behrendt named IFL Offensive Player of the Week from ABC9 Tuscon. To respond source-by-source:
1. The NCAA website cannot possibly be considered to be WP:INDEPENDENT in the context of the coverage of an NCAA athletic contest.
2. The Roanoke Times is providing local coverage within its geographic scope, which isn't strongly indicative of notability.
3. The Jefferson County Daily Union is providing extremely WP:ROUTINE coverage of a sports game.
4. Tuscon's ABC Affiliate's coverage is too brief to be considered WP:SIGCOV.

Keep. Per the Chicago Tribune source found by Paul McDonald. I was looking for one more source like that to vote keeping this. comment I think this needs to be looked at again. WP:ROUTINE applies to "events" and not "people", and thereis no exclusion of "local' coverage in WP:GNG.   - I suppose you could. What specifically in WP:MILL do you think applies? There's some stuff in there on athletes, but it looks to me to have surpassed the threshhold. keep the references in Sports Illustrated and Chicago Tribune are evidence of significant coverage, enough to pass WP:GNG. In addtion, college athletes that earn nationally recognized awards such as "All-American" status are also typically kept.--Paul McDonald (talk) 21:09, 20 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
